Merit Health Rankin Welcomes Director of Emergency Services

September 25, 2020 – Christy Anderson, MSNEd, RN, NPD-BC, has been named director of emergency services at Merit Health Rankin.
Anderson joins Merit Health Rankin from HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe in Conroe, Texas where she served as director of clinical operations as well as director of education. She has previously served as a nurse in the areas of geri-psych, telemetry, ICU, ED, and cardiac cath lab. She earned her BS in nursing and MS in education from Grand Canyon University.
With over 17 years of healthcare experience, Anderson provides oversight to the emergency department at Merit Health Rankin. In her role, she manages the day to day activities of the ER with an enhanced focus on the patients’ experience.
“At the Merit Health Rankin ER, we work hard to make sure every patient receives quality care in a timely, comfortable and efficient manner. We believe our patients’ loved ones deserve the same attention to quality care, so we do our best to keep them informed and comfortable as well,” Anderson says.
The emergency room at Merit Health Rankin is located in Brandon with access from Crossgates Boulevard and Highway 80. The ER is open 365 days a year and provides emergency services for GI issues, orthopedics, respiratory distress and other sudden or severe health issues.

Christy and her husband Jordan have 1 child, Jackson, who is 13. She is a “loud and proud” baseball mom and has 2 mini aussies, Cooper and Fancy, who run her house. Christy enjoys arts and crafts and drawing in her spare time.
