Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Merit Health Rankin’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a psychiatric treatment program that is considered the least restrictive level of hospital-based care within the continuum of behavioral health services.
We may function as a step-down in care from inpatient services to allow further monitoring and stabilization of the patient while returning to their own residences.
We also function as an entry point of care by providing patients the opportunity to decrease mildly acute symptoms when other traditional outpatient therapies have been ineffective.
In either case, our outpatient psychiatric services include evaluation, observation and control of psychiatric symptoms on an outpatient basis. The intensity of service provided is dependent on the patient’s symptoms and ability to function in their environment.
Goals:

- Reintegrate into work, church, family and friends

- Individual therapy
- Case management
